Helen
Cutter
Helen
fell in love with Cutter when they were both students and
although she respects her husband, she secretly believes
that she is cleverer than him. She had her first book on
genetic mutation published whilst still in her early
20s.
Helen always claims she tries to see the other
side of an argument but always believes she is right.
She believes that man's impact on the environment is wholly
destructive and is convinced that the human race is destined
to die out sooner rather than later and that human reliance
on machines and technology has fatally weakened our animal
instincts ..... we either adapt or die.

Claudia
Brown
Claudia
joined the civil service after studying law at
university. She's an only child but a strong team
player. She hates being patronised, especially by men
and believes that an efficient civil servant and
modern girl should take everything in her stride, including
randomly appearing dinosaurs.
She doesn't think of
herself as brave, but hates showing her fear which these
days is a challenge as there's a lot to be frightened
about. She's not sure she likes Nick Cutter but thinks
she might be falling in love with him.
