Alex Rider is a series of spy novels by Anthony Horowitz about a young spy of the same name. Seven novels have been published to date. The first novel, Stormbreaker was made into a film in 2006.  The series has been compared to James Bond and Rider is often referred to as a youthful version.

When not on missions, Alex is cared for by his best friend and caretaker Jack, probably being a shortened version of her first name as she is a female.  After his uncle's death, due to assassination by Alex's worst enemy and professional killer Yassen Gregorovich, Jack became his legal guardian and stayed in England to care for him.

The friends live in Chelsea, London, where Alex attends the local Brooklands School.  His school life is often interrupted by the missions set by MI6.  Alan Blunt is head of MI6's Special Operations Branch and along with his second-in-command, Tulip Jones, the two frequently appear throughout the novels, usually to brief and debrief Alex with his missions.

Not suitable for the under 3's.
