The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) is a Constitution class starship in service during the 23rd Century. In the course of her career, she became the most celebrated of Federation starships of that period.

In her forty years of service and discovery, through upgrades and at least two refits, she took part in numerous first contacts, military engagements and time travels.  The Enterprise's lasting fame came from the five-year mission under the command of James Tiberius Kirk.

The Enterprise was destroyed by Admiral Kirk whilst trying to defeat the Klingons in their attempt to gain the Genesis technology in 2285.
