Captain Jean-Luc Picard's iconic
starship the USS Enterprise D.
This Galaxy-class starship was
commissioned in 2363 and had a brief
life, being destroyed in 2371.
Within this time she was the flagship of the
Federation.
Built at the Utopia
Planitia Fleet Yards
orbiting Mars her
construction was
supervised by
Commander Orfil
Quinteros.
Some of the
Enterprise's
components were
derived from
technology
originally developed
on the USS Pegasus.
Final systems
completion and
shakedown was
conducted at Earth
Station McKinley.
Captain Picard took
command of the ship
on stardate 41124 at
the order of Rear
Admiral Norah Satie,
and the rest is
history.
