"CANDY" MINI MODELS

These Yamato Toys are
"Candy Models" from Japan and are models that are packaged in
boxes with a piece of candy. Collecting these models is much like
collecting trading cards. You have no idea which model is in the box
and you keep buying until you have a complete set.
As a marketing ploy most series
also includes "chase" or secret models. These are only
randomly included in counter boxes and as such not every complete box of 24
will have one of these chase models, this makes them scarce and very
collectable. The models are manufactured in what are referred to as
"disposable molds", which means once the run is done the molds are
destroyed and no more figures can be produced.
